In our home life, towels are very widely used products, which are used for washing face, bathing, cleaning, etc. In fact, the biggest difference between microfiber towels and ordinary cotton towels lies in softness, decontamination ability, and water absorption.
Which is easy to use, let’s take a look at the two aspects of common water absorption and detergency.
water absorption
The superfine fiber adopts the orange petal technology to divide the filament into eight petals, which increases the surface area of the fiber, increases the pores between the fabrics, and enhances the water absorption effect with the help of the capillary core effect. The towel made of microfiber is a mixture of 80% polyester + 20% nylon, which has high water absorption. After shampooing and bathing, this towel can quickly absorb water. However, as the fibers harden over time, their water absorption properties also decrease. Of course, a good quality microfiber towel can last for at least half a year.
Look at the pure cotton towel, the cotton itself is very absorbent, and it will be contaminated with a layer of oily substances during the process of making the towel. At the beginning of use, the pure cotton towel does not absorb much water. becomes more and more absorbent.
Experiments have shown that microfiber has strong water absorption, which is 7-10 times that of ordinary cotton fiber.
Detergency
The diameter of the ultra-fine fiber is 0.4 μm, and the fiber fineness is only 1/10 of that of real silk. Using it as a clean cloth can effectively capture dust particles as small as a few microns, and can wipe various glasses, video equipment, precision instruments, etc., and decontaminate The oil removal effect is very obvious. Moreover, because of its special fiber properties, microfiber cloth does not have protein hydrolysis, so it will not mold, become sticky and smelly even if it is in a humid state for a long time. The towels made from it also have these qualities accordingly.
Relatively speaking, the cleaning power of pure cotton towels is slightly inferior. Because the fiber strength of ordinary cotton cloth is relatively low, many broken fiber fragments will be left after rubbing the surface of the object. Moreover, ordinary cotton towels will also directly suck dust, grease, dirt, etc. into the fibers. After use, the residues in the fibers are not easy to remove. After a long time, they will become hard and affect the use. Once the microorganisms damage the cotton towel, the mold will grow wantonly.
In terms of service life, microfiber towels are about five times longer than cotton towels.
In summary:
The microfiber towel has a small fiber diameter, small curvature, softer and more comfortable, and has the function of high water absorption and dust absorption. However, the water absorption decreases over time.
Pure cotton towels, using natural fabrics, are hygienic and non-irritating in contact with body skin. Water absorption increases over time.
Anyway, both kinds of towels have their own good. If you have requirements for water absorption, cleanliness, and softness, choose a microfiber towel; if you require natural softness, choose a pure cotton towel.
